Letter to Orange County Residents
When the start of Blanket Orange County was announced this year, we were thrilled about the number of organizations that came forward and said, “We want to help. Can we be a drop off location too?”
Thanks to them, donating blankets is even easier this year. These organizations are:
- Carrboro Design Co-op at 103 W. Weaver Street, Carrboro
- Cedar Ridge High School at 1125 Grady Brown Road, Hillsborough
- Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce– 104 S. Estes Drive, Chapel Hill
- Chapel Hill – Carrboro YMCA – 980 MLK Jr Boulevard, Chapel Hill
- Children’s Center at Carol Woods – 7511 Sunrise Road, Chapel Hill
- H2Only Cleaners – in Southern Village, Chapel Hill
- H2Only Cleaners – 400 Elliott Road Extension, Chapel Hill
- Orange County Visitor’s Bureau – 501 W. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill
- UNC Wellness Center – 100 Sprunt Street, Chapel Hill
- University United Methodist Church – 150 E. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill
- UPS Stores – 1289 N. Fordham Blvd (next to Holiday Inn on 15-501), Chapel Hill
- UPS Stores – in Meadowmont, Chapel Hill
A total of 400 new or gently used blankets are needed for The Community House, Project Home Start, The Maggie Alvis Halfway House and The Neighbor House of Hillsborough.
Will you help by cleaning out your closets in search of gently used blankets you no longer need; or by purchasing new ones the next time you are out shopping; and dropping them off at one of the above locations before Friday, December 10?
Blankets for single or twin size beds are preferred but we will find a good use for other sizes as well.
If you do not have any blankets to contribute and don’t have time to shop, we will be glad to purchase blankets on your behalf.
Write check payable to Blanket Orange County & mail to:
